Partly. Ride recording keeps going without signal, and hazard reports, crew messages and votes made in a dead zone are sent when you are back in coverage. Speed humps and potholes you have already loaded still warn you. Maps, route planning, place search and turn-by-turn navigation need a connection today.
Yes. With live family tracking you share a link and your family follow your ride on a map without installing the app. Check In is separate: it tells your emergency contacts if you do not arrive and do not answer, and shares your location only then.
No, Rmaps does not detect crashes. On a group ride, if you stop and do not answer, your crew is alerted. Riding alone with Check In on, your emergency contacts are told if you do not arrive and do not respond. You can raise an SOS yourself at any time.
Yes, if you switch it on. Auto-detect rides is off by default; turn it on in Settings and Rmaps records when it notices you riding. Afterwards you keep the ride and pick the bike, or delete it — nothing counts toward your records or backs up until you keep it. It is new and still in beta.
Never. When a group stretches out, Rmaps tells the Road Captain to ease off so the back can close up, and tells riders at the back to ride at their own pace. Speed is never on any leaderboard either.
